Sacred Heart Catholic School
Peggy Perez, Co-Principal
I am the second oldest of seven children and when I was 4 years old we moved to the Westley area from Camarillo. I attended 1st-4th grade at Rising Sun School in Vernalis and 5th-8th grade at St. Stanislaus in Modesto. My younger siblings attended the newly built SHCS in Patterson when it first opened in 1962 with grades 1-4. I am a Patterson High School graduate and earned my BA from CSU Chico. I later completed my teaching credential at UOP in Stockton.
In 1982 my husband and I became part of a group of parents who were interested in reopening SHCS. (The school had closed in 1972.) One year later we were able to realize that dream. Since then, I have been involved with many aspects of SHCS. I have been PA president and treasurer, office staff, teacher aide, substitute teacher and more.
When the youngest of my 3 children entered Kindergarten here, I began my teaching career with Sacred Heart. I have taught 2nd, 4th and 6th-8th grades and have been Vice Principal since about 1990. Currently 3 of my grandchildren attend SHCS. Sacred Heart Catholic School holds a very special place in my heart. I feel very blessed to be part of the family here.
Mary Ramirez, Office Manager
I have been at Sacred Heart Catholic School 16 years. I began as a Resource Teaching Assistant due to my background with Special Education for Santa Clara County of Education. I worked with toddlers to high schoolers. Although I did not become a teacher, I was excited knowing I was still making a difference In each child’s life.
I am originally from Johnston, Rhode Island but have lived in California most of my life. My husband and I decided to move from San Jose to Patterson in 1999. I am married now for 30 years and have two adult children. My favorite summer vacation is Maui and have been fortunate enough to go every year with the entire family.

I was welcomed into the Sacred Heart family by staff and parents in 2014. I enjoy the children. They make me laugh every day.
