Sacred Heart Catholic School
Mrs. Dianna Henriques
I am a graduate of California State University, Fresno in 1991 with a degree in Interior Design. After graduating from Fresno State I took the CBEST exam and began substitute teaching in Fresno. It was at that time I found my passion, teaching. After having a family, I returned to school to attain my teaching credential at Chapman University. I completed my multiple subject teaching credential in 2008. I was blessed to begin my career at Sacred Heart in the first grade and I have remained there for twelve years.
My path to teaching did not take the traditional route with an undergraduate degree that naturally led to teaching, but I found that during my time substituting that I had a love for teaching and working with young students. In first grade I get to be a part of developing more independent students, and facilitate their love for their learning which is seen in their excitement for reading, writing and mathematics. I feel blessed to share my love for education in a Catholic school. I grew up being a faith filled person, but I did not become a Catholic until college. The Catholic Church provided me with a safe home to grow in my faith. I feel blessed that I get to teach my students the core subjects, but the greatest blessing is sharing my love of our God in the Catholic faith. Our school’s commitment to Catholic education provides our students with a quality education and an opportunity to become a faith filled and socially responsible person. I am proud to be a part of that.
I was born in VanNuys, California. I have lived in many places throughout California, and I am glad my life brought me here. I am happily married to my husband for twenty two years and we have three wonderful children. All three of my children completed their primary education at Sacred Heart. I am glad my husband and I made that choice for our kids as it provided them with a foundation for being the great people they are now. Away from school, I love to be with my family and watch my youngest son play football. I love to take my dog for walks, read books, and find new crafting projects. I am a fan of Pinterest!
